Postparken is a social housing complex from the 1950’s located in Tårnby, right next to the City of Copenhagen. 

arki_lab was commissioned to help develop a landscape competition for the upcoming transformation of their outdoor areas. We carried out landscape analysis and formulated a competition brief, as well as helped facilitate and judge the competition between three landscape studios. The competition brief has a strong focus on different aspects of sustainability, and how to implement them in a large-scale landscape transformation. The program formulates requirements of both increased biodiversity, implementation of rainwater management, re-use of materials as well as social sustainability.

arki_lab is in charge of the resident engagement and communication throughout the coming process, as well as assisting in fundraising.

In the first phase of engagement, arki_lab has carried out a baseline survey and a row of design workshops with 3 groups of residents, over the course of 3 workshops with different themes. The workshops were carried out in close collaboration with landscape architects Opland.
